Cognition announced it is acquiring Windsurf's intellectual property and product, including its AI-powered IDE, along with employees not hired by Google. Windsurf had reached $82 million in ARR with a user base of at least 350 enterprise customers and hundreds of thousands of daily active users. Cognition plans to integrate Windsurf’s IP into its own products while continuing development on the AI-powered IDE.
